SUPER SIMPLE CAPE GOOSEBERRY JAM

Ingredients:

  • 250g of fresh cape gooseberries

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 1 cup of sugar

  • Fresh juice of 1/2 a lemon

 

Method: 

  • Prepare gooseberries by removing outside husk/ stem and rinse the berries

  • Bring water, sugar, and lemon juice to the boil, and boil 10 minutes, 

  • Add prepared gooseberries and continue boiling about 15-20 mins (berries will burst open)

  • Pour into prepared jars and seal, jam will thicken as it cools

  • Makes approximately 12oz. Recipe can be doubled or made into a smaller batch for little jars.
